    Hi,

I know this may sound funny but what is everyones experience with releasing Press Release on certain days.

I would like to release a Press Release on PRWeb with the $120 upgrade option and I would like to get the maximum potential coverage.

For instance I am sure that releasing it on a Sunday would be a bad idea???

    Thanks in Advance

Best on a slow news day for your category, which is a crapshoot. I haven't noticed any significant difference in which day of the week my story was released, but perhaps some have.

Monday is usually a slow news day. Best day to submit a press release.

I'm not sure where you got this notion, but I'm a PR professional (run a small firm), and I can assure you Monday is not a slow news day. :p

Monday is traditionally actually the busiest news day of the week (and I can speak as both someone who's educated in and working in PR, as well as someone who's worked for various media outlets on the other side). You do not want to send a release Monday unless it's significantly more newsworthy than anything else, you're willing to pay much more than the $120 to get listed high, or if it's extremely time sensitive and absolutely can't wait another day. (Keep in mind this Monday - tomorrow - is also a holiday, so avoid it).

On another note, Thursday is actually the traditionally slow news day for the media. The reason is that print media sources often have Thursday deadlines, so the reporters are swamped and not looking for anything else unless it's huge news. The only thing to release on a Thursday is "fluff" news (something you want to publicize but know it's not really newsworthy - in which case you shouldn't be paying to submit a release anyway), because if reporters suddenly need to fill space they'll often look for things like that.

    Hope that helps! :)
