I'm working on gathering the figures for the amount of pages for keywords in google and need to be as accurate as possible and was wondering what is the best datacenter to use to check? Best regards, Eiso Kant
BigDaddy does not reflect "current" active results. But, it does show some scary stuff for my site. Like 52000 pages indexed instead of 1.2 million. YIKES.
Personally, I'd just go with regular old "google.com". When data from the other DCs propogate over to google.com, you can begin to use the new data, but until then... I'd stick with what real live users search from. Brad
feel free to use http://www.findmypr.com it shows backlinks google and alexa ect... don't know if it covers everything you are looking for, but does show some very good information. http://www.grabexpired.com also shows google adword cometition, google adword finder and has some other good tools. I got tired of others so I put together some tools that I use regularly.
But you don't know which DC the .com is using - that's why you check things directly across multiple DC's. For all you know some users could be using BigDaddy now.
I've found bigdaddy to be a very regular datacenter for me when I am using my local google (.ie) and I've also found it to have WAY more indexed pages for my site than the main DC's.. (BD is currently showing 94,600 pages indexed for my site but googles standard data centers are only showing me 746 indexed pages) Strange..
Agree with you. IMO it's not that important because you can never know to which DC which visitor of goolge is going to be redirected.
