What should be the ideal ctr click through rate for best performing site 2 % is high or not pleaase comment
I personally go off clicks per unique visitor. ie. most of my visitors may go to eight or nine pages, so even though CTR may be as low as ~1% on some of my sites, I am still getting ~10% of visitors leaving the site through google on them
I try to shot for around 10% for my sites. I test ad placement and format until I achieve the 10% or get as close as possible.
Hello, Can anyone direct me to the section where i can learn about CTR? i wonder whats that... Thanks alot!
im not sure but i think they are talking about traffic. and CTR just means Cars Turning Right. they sit at traffic lights and count the cars that turn right. 10%, 1%?? im guessing the guy with 10% lives in a big city and the 1% guy lives in north dakoda.. but im new like you. am i right?
CTR is about percentage. Click per Impression (Click Through Rate) or something. Mine is better after do manything. Also impression is a lot more. Now still get less than 1% CTR
You can't really say what is "ideal" for a site. All sites are different. I've heard that forums have very low ctr rates. and that highly targeted niche sites have much higher ctr rates. My site has an average of about 12%-15% consistantly (over all pages), I'm pretty happy about this, though I have read from others that their sites do more like 30%-35%
LMAO... dude I hope your joking - if you are you are one funny guy! . If you were serious... ignore that last comment - at least you have come to the right place. As for ideal CTR - well being someone that runs my adsense on a lot of sites that aren't really conducive to Adsense advertising - like forums, I can say that the ideal CTR is the best CTR for your site. As Corina mentioned targetted niche articles do very well whilst general forum type sites do fairly poorly. I have some article sections and those pages seem to return a CTR of around 10%+ whilst on my forums I'm generally lucky to maintain my 1% CTR. It all depends, the Best CTR is 100% assuming you still abide by Google's TOS just try and get as close to that as possible.
Hey guys! Thanks for ur advise! hmmm... May i know why forum gets low CTR? I thought forum will increase the CTR lolz... Opposite haha... Let me guess.. is it because of the pages visitors view? the lesser the better?
The fact that most guests and members of forums browse them extensively - creating a more impressions which reduces CTR. But I don't think that is the whole story. I'd imagine its because the ads themselves don't really appear amoungst the content rather they appear above below posts not really in them. Also most forums users are frequent visitors and to a degree would become ad blind, in addition to the fact that on forums you don't really control the content on the page as it is posted by the forum members and as such you have limited control over the actual ads that are displayed. I'd also imagine that most fourm uses aren't going to a forum to be directed to other sites they are probably more inclined to hang around and interact on the forums. I'm sure there are loads more reasons why forums don't obtain great CTRs.
i was just joking, had some time to kill while doing ebay. Hey, I wish ebay would let me put adsence on my auctions. I bet my CTR would be pretty high.
My best site gets around 2% but also pays at least a dollar per click. I do wish I could get the CTR up, but I have it about as tweaked as it's going to get.
I typically average between 17% - 20% across all of my sites, but the vast majority are niche sites, which I think typically experience higher CTR. It definitely depends on the type of site(s) you have, but learn as much as you can about how to properly integrate the ads, i.e. placement, blending, etc., and you can maximize your CTR. HTH, Sam
