best color for a business card?

    Hello,
I'm wanting to get a couple hundred business cards printed out and I was just wondering what would be the best color for a business card:

    Black

    or

    White

And why would it be one color or the other? Of course I would assume white would be good because it's more inviting, however black would "stand out" more.

    Thanks,

    M.P

Yes black would stand out more, but one Black paper cost more and Two it will show more dirt than white, ex:Coming in and out of peoples wallets. You logo may not show up as well on the black as well. And your limited to bright colors

Black would stand out more, but color on a white background is good too. I think a straight black and white card looks somewhat dull. Have some type of color on it for sure and ensure you use high quality paper and printing services.

White background with no more than two other colors (foreground) is the most professional looking.

White with colour looks far more professional than a black design for most types of business.

I would, however, recommend black if you run a graphics orientated business or something similar that may benefit from something a bit more creative.

Would this just be from bad printing? Without a gloss finish? I've seen black printed post cards that don't "bleed"

    Thanks :)

Definatley a white back ground, black IMO would look taccy.
And no more than 2-3 colours on the front. Show me it when it's done!

MY business's logo has 2 versions, a white one (which works very well with a black background) and a green one (which works best with a white background)
