looking to learn a CMS what would be the best to use ? im not a coded or a devloper, so it needs to be easy to use and have some good extras. Ive used joomla its easy and come with a lot of extras, I know people would say just use joomla then but ive been told joomla is dated not muchs getting changed now and the other offer more, is this true what are your options
It depends entirely on what kind of site you're building and what you want it to do. There is no "best", there are just preferences as to which do certain things the best, as well as your level of programming or code editing expertise.
As a rule of thumb, I always recommend Wordpress as your first stop. If what you want to do can be done Wordpress then use Wordpress. If you can't you have to weigh the major issue associated with both Joomla and Drupal which is that they do not provide backward compatibility and can leave you high and dry as they move through their versions. Wordpress has great backward compatibility with the introduction of each new version. This does not apply to the plugins which can also become obsolete, which is why I stick with the most popular plugins which will probably be maintained through versions.
I am not sure in WP CMS as it's open-sourced so a site can be easily hacked. Prefer to use something more reliable. Even if I should pay for it.
Wordpress has thousands of plugins and templates... Joomla is script heavy and takes a while to load. well drupal is still climbing but not alot of plugins.
It depends on what you are trying to build? As previously mentioned if you can build the site you want with Wordpress then do it ... it is very easy to use even for a total newbie and it is very good at what it does. If you want a more advanced site then you should go for Drupal, but be aware that it is not as user friendly when you are just starting out. In my opinion, Joomla is neither as user friendly as Wordpress nor as powerful as Drupal, so why bother.
