I want to Start a News and Gallery Site So Please Sugest me a Good CMS for this Either Paid or Free Thanks
yes, I would second wordpress... i know it's a blogging platform, but given the right use of plugins and some tweakings it can be a good cms!
if you want a complex solution , you can use joomla . if you will make simple site , you can use wordpress
and i think this complex solution will be good for you if you want to make it a real site as usual look and feel of WP is of a blog!
Wordpress is a CMS, and yes Wordpress would be best for this situation. Joomla has to many features you wont be needing
Wordpress is a blogging platform, it does not exactly stand alone as a full CMS system. Out of the box it is light, fast, with minimal features, NOT a CMS. It is THE BEST Blogging platform however (alongside b2evolution or movable type). You can use WPG2 for example which would combine Gallery2 and Wordpress into a single "installation". On the other hand, Joomla offers many features, easily installable components and modules. Joomla is quite a capable platform with many benefits. You will find many more contributions to make a "full rounded site" with Joomla then you will with Wordpress, but BOTH are highly compatible and solid free web site management software systems. Joomla is a "typical" CMS. I honestly think both would work for you, you should look around and see if you can find some sites using both these plugins and then check the templates to see if its something your serious about. Either way... Good Luck!
wordpress is small, fast, easy to edit operate and best for using as a CMS, you can try joomla its also a better choice
Wordpress is a little too simple (If you intend to make a large site for news + Gallery) & Jooml/Mambo is a little too complex. I will suggest you to go with XOOPS. Its easy as compare to Joomla and has some really cool modules that you can use for news+galler site. You will love it. I bet this.
i have read here that it can be transformed to CMS by using some plugins but i dont know which one as i have totally switched to Joomla!
I don’t know what you have in mind, but I don’t know of any template issue. It worked great for me. And so, i highly recommend it.
