Best CMS for Newbie?

hello everyone
i am planing to launch Portal for India. it will includes games, jokes, recipes, news matri , datinng etc.
Which CMS will be best to choose? i need bit of professional site something like this www . gujarat . com
i m totally ZERO in mysql, mssql and php or asp watsoever it needs.
I have fantastico so they will install automatically some of CMS
but which will be good for long term? as well SEO FRIENDLY...

I'd look at drupal or joomla for a good CMS, I've used them both and they're both pretty easy to use.

Yes, there are lots of templates for both. I'd say go with Joomla first, it's pretty well developed.

 

I like drupal and wordpress, but drupal has more functionality IMHO

As i said in neighbour topic - my opinion is Nucleus CMS

 

joomla seems good for beginners, i just started site with joomla...for the most part it seems ok...just gotta get used to the admin panel

 

yes, I agree, Joomla is easier to use and many custom template, module, and component. Right now I'm trying to use php-fusion, more faster than joomla but have restricted module

 

I installed joomla on some sites for my friends all newbies.
All was satisfied from the easy to use.

 

Personally, I feel that Nucleus CMS is pretty easy for beginners to use and yet can be customized to your own liking as you learn the inner workings of the engine. The support forum also helped me with some tips to customize my website the way I want it.

 

My biggest problem with Joomla is it is not customized for SEO or AdSense. Yes, you are a beginner, but, if you are going to develop such a massive site, you should start it off correctly from the beginning or you are wasting your time. You should find a CMS that will give normal html names.

Joomla is great, you might also want to look at a magazine type layout component called ijoomla(.com).
