Hello, I would like to know which CMS is best for my fansites. I am looking for one that allows me to post news (each entry will have it's own page instead of the entries stacking up on each other like most fansites), I would love for it to be SEO friendly. Right now I'm coding EVERYTHING by hand and using CutePHP for news posts. The headlines you see on the bottom of my main page are put there manually. I would love something that can make it easy for me to add blocks of content anywhere I would like. Most of my sites will have the same template. The site is not really working, I have some major fixing up to do and the site is not completed yet. I just want to show you guys the main page to see if any of you can suggest what kind of CMS I should use. site Thanks in advance
I'll second IMiq. Wordpress is a great CMS is you take the time to theme it properly & weed out the more blog-specific areas. Huge community of users to help you with any problem you have in it
Will I be able to keep my current layout but just have it all run by WordPress? All the WordPress themes I see out there are very spacey and um... lol. Wondering if I'll be able to recreate the exact same look that I currently have using WordPress. And on the bottom center of my layout I have a box with headlines and under each headline is a small description of the headline (all put there manually). Will I be able to do this automatically with WordPress? Thanks guys
WordPress is the best one and a lot easier than Joomla. But Joomla is more advanced and offers you many more features than WordPress.
Wordpress would be the quicker route... But unless you build your own theme you might not be able to get your layout quite like you want it. Joomla with the right template would get you much closer to your current setup... But if you've never worked in joomla you find out quickly that there is a learning curve. Once you get it it becomes second nature, but getting there is a journey.
