Who would you recommend would be the best & cheapest registrar for registering a few names for domain speculation? Say for some names I wanted to just register, park it, then later sell, & others, I wanted register, develop it, then sell later, would you recommend the same register for both or different?

I currently use GoDaddy for domains.

When buying domains we should not only look the prices but also the services.
I've seen lots of people complaining about a bad registrar!

Best and Cheapest.... do you associate equal value to each of these terms? The cheapest almost certainly isnt the best :)

    - Avoid all registrars below $6.25
    - Choose according to what forumers say here and other related forums

I avoid godaddy and his coupons at all costs, i get better support with smaller registrars. Namecheap is good also and i believe they will launch even lower price range when their own system work side by side with enom reselling platform

Now my favorite so far is domainsite.com
Τhe registration is 6.99 standard (with no coupons or anything), paypal usage that will not charge you extra for the purchase and quick support responses. The only "drawback" with them is that the renewal is 7.99
I don't say it's the best but for their prices and the general usage they're good

(by the way moniker provide a very good service and qualify for me for the "best" registrar category)

I use namecheap, personally. Free push, easy DNS configuration, simple UI, etc.

I use enom. In addition to everything, it is very easy to create sub account to give to the buyer.

When dealing with non domainers, it is quite a hassle to even push a domain.

I really like Moniker's easy domain deletion/refund system. One technique I've learned if I am having a hard time deciding between names, is to register all of them, ask for appraisals, and then pretty much let the forums decide. This process, called "tasting" is usually used to test the traffic of dropped domain names before deciding to keep them. Moniker's pricing is actually cheaper than namecheap if you get them to lower your cost, and the deletion fee of $1.00 can actually be reduced if you ask them too.
