I would recommend you to use the licensed version of the script and benefit from the high end, user friendly mods available.

One such mod is: Phpld Version 3.x Category Generator :)

The best category generator is 100% free and it's been around longer than any conventional category dump. It's called your brain, the best and only good category generator.

Why rush it man, it takes a lot of time to make a good directory, so why not spend a few more hours to make a good category structure

I found a good category structure, just do some modifications and this saved me a lot of time to spend in tasks with more importance for my directory .

It gives potential contributors more options. Makes a lot more sense to use a dump and to customise them as you go along.

Ah... maybe I should have looked into this before I spent the last 4 hours creating categories by hand for my new directory (blog directory in sig) ... but in a way I'm glad because I think it'll be a bit more unique than most. But I'm worried about leaving out some important ones... I guess I can always add them if I have to. I actually was trying to do a few less categories than I've seen elsewhere because I saw many of them were empty - or there just doesn't seem to be a lot of blogs in some of these areas.. so no point in having it have it's own category then, I figure.
