    hey guys - I'm fairly new to blogging. Which blog service do you think is the best in terms of seo rankings?

    Where/how can you get the best templates or designs for blogging? (preferably free or low cost)

    For ranking well in google, I suggest blogspot. Google owns blogspot and because of this, the people at google have a financial interest in making sure that blogspot pages rank well. If you own a product, your going to make sure that its promoted first before your competition.

    And besides that, I see blogspot pages ranking better all the time over wordpress.com pages.

    If you don't want to invest money for blogging ,go for Blogger . Other wise if you've got hosting service WordPress will meet all your criteria.

    Best and Free should not be put together when we talking about blogging.

    Buy a domain and hosting for your blog. You want full ownership and control over your blog. Self hosted wordpress blog is the best blog platform you will find on the internet today.
