    Hey guys,

I am starting a fitness blog (SwollGoal.com) and this will be my first venture into blogging! I am looking for something that a beginner could handle, but it needs to look professional and have some good features [like RSS feed capabilities, comment options, etc. etc.]

Any tips related to this or blogging in general would be appreciated :) .

    Thanks,

    Max

I downloaded WordPress and was about to install it.

I am a regular at the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the forums and kept on seeing WordPress templates up for sale (I think); do I have to get one coded or is there a "default" theme?

    Thanks a lot,

    Max

You only need to get one coded when you want one that is unique and only that you or a few others can use. WordPress comes with a default theme, but you probably want to change it, so your blog can look unique. You can find more themes at http://themes.wordpress.net.

ofcourse rightly said... you can get word press themes for free... and you can start working and when you have success with your blog and you think you can spend on coded template you can go for it...

hope these suggestions are of help...

Thanks guys! I am just looking to add a custom header to the blog (I can do that with WordPress, right?). Any dimensions I should know?

Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to get the ball rolling in the right direction and this thing launched by December 8th - I'm eager! :)

    Thanks,

    Max

when you have selected the theme and downloaded in your comp just see in the images folder you will find a header image just open that in PHotoshop or any other tool you have... and see the width and height of the image and make the new image with same dimensions and replace the new image with same name as old... in the folder and you are ready to go with your custom image...
