thanks - we already do seo and are achieving lots of backlinks - we have good pr and generally are doing well. But I need to add to the picture with blogging and social bookmarking. As a newbie to these fields, I reallly need sound advice as to where to begin.

I have read a lot of business blogs. Some are repulsive, others enticing. What's the difference? I think Seth Godin's blog is helpful. His blog is: 1. seems like you planning to launch a blog which is related your current business?? like SEO if I am not wrong.. than your blog should be SEO related too and you can regularly publish SEO related tips plus updates as to how your company is going. Remember to write articles in a manner that your readers LOVE them and think of comin back again and again. and as you seem to know the SEO basics so it won't take time before you get to SERPS..

Hello..I think updating the content on your blog is very important. What i have learned about my experience is that gape drages you back at initial point. One has to update the blog upto certain stage and dont forget to social net working that helps in incresasing the the page index.
