Best blogger domain names for SEO purposes ...

For grins, I've started my own blog. I don't have great aspirations for this, and I'm not sure what I'll end up doing with it, but it's been kinda fun to update on a periodic basis.

My question is from an SEO perspective, what should I select as the domain name. I.e. for now, I'm using alekkomar.blogspot.com ... but I could easily do blog.komar.org (or some other subdomain on my site).

However, I allready have a fair amount of "stuff" on www.komar.org ... and I have links back to that site from my blog ... so if I put it as blog.komar.org, it seems to me that links from the same top-level domain (and IP address in this case) would be devalued ... so it is more desireable to have 'em somewhere else ... plus being on blogspot may provide other boosts.

Yea, I lose a few page of content on *.komar.org ... and I'm hosed if blogspot goes away ... but curious any thoughts/comments on this?

    Thanx,
    alek

I'm feeling nobel today and am doing a run of answering unanswered posts.

    My opinion:

I always believed that subdomains are treated like seperate entities by Google. So if you get 10 pages on a subdomain and 10,000 on your main domain then it's two websites in their eyes. Ranking will be hard because the subdomain is small and G likes big sites. So I would stick it on the www under a folder with a related KW folder name.

In the eyes of a large majority of viewers, shorter domains are better.
