Best Blog Platform

I've started a blog on a few sites now - Opera, Multiply and Prospotlight.

So far, i've only created one blog entry per site but was wondering whether AS FAR AS BACKLINKS ARE CONCERNED - it's worth creating more entries?

Are there any other platforms that Google considers to be more authoritative?

Note that I'm only interested in backlinks not in casual traffic.

Wordpress 100% of the way. Not only does it come out-of-the-box with easy management of SEO, comments, posts, and ping backs... there are also THOUSANDS of plug-ins and themes to make Wordpress even more customizable!

Many thanks Emanage and Ascendancy - do Wordpress blogs also carry more weight with Google? Or does Google only attribute "worth" to blogs depending ont he backlinks you get?

wordpress is also used all over the web - you can set up free wp blogs and get backlinks from multiple different domains and IPs at no cost. Read about it in the free ebook about autoblogging from http://www.bloggerhigh.com

    Ok, maybe I misunderstood.

I think he was asking about creating free blogs on different sites and backlinking to his main site, like a link wheel or property.

If that's the case, a backlink is a backlink. 1 isn't going to give much more weight over the others. If they allow dofollow that's a different mater in googles eyes though.

Yep - that's exactly right. I'm looking at blogging as a link-building tool, a bit like squidoo or ezines.

So an Opera blog will carry just as much SEO link juice as a Wordpress blog?

I find Opera so much easier than Wordpress (which I tried today, but couldn't even get a df link in my post!!!) What's the use of that?

Yes, since you are creating a new fresh blog with no PR juice or backlinks of their own. They all are pretty equal.

CyberGlitch - many thanks for this. Does everyone else agree - it doesn't matter which blog platform you choose (opera , Wordpress etc) what matters is the links you get to it.

If that is the case - and there's nothing spammy about Opera - then I will stick at Opera as it seems so much easier than Wordpress and the end result at least look visually attractive without much effort.

    All of them.

However, you don't need to build one blog. Just create a new blog everytime you have a new article or post.
