I have an auction site and would like to implement a blog on it. I dont want to loose my skin and use my existing header and footer. Anyone know a blog that offers the ability to do this.
I would recommend a WordPress blog. Find a theme that looks similar to the site design you have now and put the existing header and footer (including the credit to the theme designer that is a default part of the footer) in so the site stays basically the same.
WordPress rocks. I use WP for my employment site and am satisfied with its ease of use plus the great SEO benefits of using WP.
WOW, MattKNC! That is a WordPress site? that looks more along the lines of e107 or phpnuke! That is quit a site. I would also agree that WordPress does have some nice advantages. Like, adding content and custom pages on the fly, modules a bound and are usually easy to install. And, most importantly, lot's and lot's of online support and documentation. Boulder
Yes it is WordPress. I use one of the popular Andreas Viklund themes and have added in the requisite plug-ins to drive the site. Google loves the site as they are indexing pages, giving nice PageRank to plenty of posts and internal pages, and the ads served aren't all that bad too.
MattKNC, Well, you have done a nice job on developing the site. I like the site! I especially like the sub-menu drop down feature and the site just has a nice feel to it and displays the content nicely and also quickly on page interchange. Good work! Boulder
Thanks, Boulder. I was careful in selecting a theme that would go with the site and make the user's experience as quick and painless as possible. Today, I removed two javascript widgets to help the site load up faster.
