Best bang for buck for gaming? RAM or CPU Upgrade?

    Upgrading from AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz to AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+ 2.2 GHz.

    or


    Upgrading from AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz to AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4 GHz.
    or


    Upgrading from 1GB to 2GB RAM?

    Definitely get 2GB RAM- nowadays you will need minimum 4GB for smooth functioning.

    I *love* to keep old computers running, but there comes a time when starting from scratch is smarter AND cheaper than dragging dinosaurs into a future they don't want to be part of.
