    Hey all! :)

After being totally hacked because of a damn wordpress exploit, and having to spend hours checking all my sites pages for malicious scripts. --- I kind of wish i had a better backup of all my websites :p

What do you use to keep your websites backed up on???

I've made a poll!! ho ho!!!

But i'd still like to hear your reasons.

I'm getting myself a cool pen drive (32GB), as i guess no moving parts kind of makes it the best choice!

(Also, how often do you make backups of your sites? I've never done a mysql backup! I'm doing it now!!)

    :)

Although I do backup my sites regularly (weekly ish), I'm more concerned about losing my everyday work that I'm doing for my real world clients. If my house burns down, floods, gets ripped off... then I'd be screwed.

I make daily backups to an internal hard drive, and weekly backups to an external OFF SITE USB hard drive.

Haha -- that's a good point, i've never thought of that. It's no good having a backup of all your files/sites/etc -- if they just get burned away in a fire

I might backup all my sites to 2 pen drives -- keep one here, and the other at my grandmas! :)

Cheers for the replies so far guys!!!

A friend of mine takes it to extremes. He mirrors his drive to a friend's computer in another state EVERY DAY. They have this crazy system going on where they store each other's backups in case of some huge disaster.

Still... if it's your bread and butter, you can never have too many backups.

I do own an external hard drive - it's 500gb full size usb. But it also needs to be plugged in.

It seems to be so noisy, and and makes clicking noises. I almost dont kind of trust it to be used as my backup device! haha.

    Anyway, thank you all!!!

Because of the price drop of hard drives, having a backup hard drive is a very cheap solution to make large backups. You can always Raid 1 your hard drives and have a backup right on the spot.
