Best Background colour for my website

Hi guys,

I just want to know if you guys think a black background with some white in the middle (looks kind of like a wall) is okay to have as a background. I have this as my background and all my banners and widgets fit in beautifully. But i'm a bit worried that the users might be turned of by the colour cause of annoyance to the eye. Any opinions anybody would be appreciated?

Nice and good site, maybe add more 'white space' for the words. (ie 'black space' for your site)

I think that the colors for your site work well for your niche/ target audience. White on black is okay, in fact hackaday.com come to mind as something similar that works.
Like ked38 said, think about increasing the line height on all of your main paragraphs. They are very text heavy and increasing the line height in the css will make it easier to read it all.

 

Nice site. I like the background very much, beside the comments this guys added before me you can also add some images to the posts.

Your advertisement top right below feed link could look better if it had border in background same as other rounded corner boxes. Logo doesn't go well with website design. But I like the web design in over all.

 

yeah i created the logo myself (it sux's not the best designer). I got a new design done by a professional and looking at uploading it.

Color combination is really very good.But the main thing which i personnaly feel that you have more concentrate on image part rather than writting a lot of text in every paragraph.

Seriously I don't think you need to be worried, as I really like the design. Its different ! That white in the middle is the beauty of your design. I was actually enjoying reading the text!

I love the background and the look and feel of the site. The white text is a little difficult to read against the white parts of the backgound. Great domain name too!

Hi i will check your site. Its looking nice. But i want to tell you one thing about title. When my mouse over on title its look white but i think when i think if you use sharp title then its look more better. I dont know how it look but if you think then try it.

 

The color combination & the back ground You are using for your site its Just AWESOME.

I think user like only these type of color combination which is very clear for them if your site is very clear then you can try it.
