Hello new-member, your avatar looks nice, is this really you? will you marry me? ;-) Well, back to the topic, i also believe adwords is the fastest.. but it needs cash. Try buying ads on related sites through www.adengage.com or similar. Beats having to play with adwords' dynamic performance pricing.

Try adding a blog on your site. Post current, original articles on the hot topics in your niche, not the same old regurgitated crap that's already out there. (Check forums in your niche to see what questions people keep asking for hints on what to write.) Use tags on your posts and list your blog on the popular services like Technorati, del.icio.us, Reddit, etc. and you should pick up some decent, well-targetted traffic.
All of these are great suggestions. I've got 60 sites, and one of them is a targetted, regional-interest site. I decided to do mailings every quarter, and in one year, my monthly uniques have multiplied x11. And every month they're going up 5-10%. So in my case, offline marketing has been by far the most measureable technique to increase traffic.
