    The rates of most of the writers mentioned in this thread (thus far) are $0.10+ per word. The best way to find out would be to PM the writer you're interested in and ask directly.

    Mine are posted on my Rates & Services page, and are at the very low end of what is considered "professional."

    Depends on the writer. Experts in their field, as Rebecca says, charge above 10 cents/word. In fact, I've seen some freelance veterans who charge as high as 50-75 cents. But if you're looking for REAL quality and not some hodge-podge of regurgitated Wikipedia content, the price is definitely well worth it.
