Hi! I've got a couple of ideas for developing 2 different web apps. I've either got to learn php and ruby on rails or hire programmers. But that is not the point of this thread. I'm not sure how to proceed legally. Do i seek out a patent and trademarks for the web apps? Yes i do understand the definition of patents and trademarks. I don't have any savings to pay for IP rights. Do you know of any examples of apps that have just created the app and bought the domain and just promoted/made money and then later registered trademarks. But then as i understand IP law, applying for a patent after commercial use makes it null and void. ..then if i further understand it by applying for a patent that would make the source code open.. Can anyone help me clarify on any of this? thankyou, arcanus
I think you may need to sum up or conclude your post with a one line simple sentance... It seems to be as you have put to much information in. Regards
I guess writing posts after midnight isnt such a good idea lol. ok to sum it up .. I want to develop two ideas into web apps. I've never done it before. I even have to learn to code or hire programmers. Do i need a patent if i code the entire app or part of? Do i need a patent if i hire programmers? if so,does that mean source code is openly viewable? Do all web apps have patents on them? I suppose i could apply for a innovation patent to begin with. I'm not sure if at this stage I would need to hire programmers.I don't want a programmer to see potential in my idea and run off with it before i have a patent. Ideally I would like to just get it up and running as soon as possible. Thanks, arcanus
