    the best antivirus in the world is not having a antivirus :p use your mind and you will know whats safe and whats not! Look into the files you download its really not hard i dont use antivirus =) and i have been safe for years.

    lol same here :D. Although I have to stay current with the best anti virus suites for work. I've never had a virus. Ive downloaded at least 10,000 times.

    Nod32 with heuristics turned on is virtually 100% detection. I've never had a problem in all the time I've been using it with a virus.

    In my opinion, AVG Free is a very good antivirus program.
    It loads fairly quickly and isn't a resource hog.

    I have BitDefender. It never gave me any problems and always notice when I try and download stuff with viruses. It automatically blocks it and i never have to mess with it. :)

    the best antivirus is common sense.

    but i still use and recommend avira. :)

    and don't forget your spyware protection was well: hijackthis and/or ad-aware

    Kaspersky and NOD32 are the best....

    Others are also good but,they slow down your system speed...
    They eat a lot of system resources..

    I can't believe only three people suggested NOD32. It's four people if you count with me.
    It's simply the best anti-virus program out there. I can't really describe what's good about it, you have to try it out.

    I hate norton and McAfee. They're memory hogs.(Yes, even worse than firefox and google chrome.) I use Avast! and Spybot. They work for me :) I heard Kapersky is good, but you have to pay for it.
