I want to make a website to review local Cafés. Can any recommend a good script for this, and warn me off any bad ones?

Thanks Tim, I'm sure it's good and I will look at it but I'd rather get impartial advice from people who don't own the scripts themselves. :)

Those reviews are ancient, and pretty upbeat generic-sounding. All you've done is put me off, and for all I know it might actually be ok.

All of the testimonials are unedited from real customers. They are upbeat because my customers are generally very happy with the review script. Good luck with your search...

You may want to have a look at www.crowdvox.com if you are looking for a flexible solution. I read above that you want impartial feedback from people but since we are not too old in this market, I thought I should tell you about our script. We are also launching geo map plugin next month.

It seems ok but it's a bit too expensive just to have a look at. I'm trying the one at designmind.co.uk at the moment, but I must admit to being a little underwhelmed by it, seems very simplistic and not too slick so far - and no one is answering the posts on the message board... I haven't givem up on it yet though, I shall see how easy it is to customize. So I might get around to yours anyway eventually, and even Tim's above.

I think $350 for meeplace is good price considering it has more modules and functions than all the review scripts out there. It is a business-in-a-box where the other scripts don't have much in the way of social functions or administrative options, which I believe will required more customizations and/or have to buy several plugins which makes their pricing the same or more. Next version will have more features which will allow it to be more flexibility to review products and non-location based services as well in our next version. "A Social review engine". But if you want a basic review script without social then there are many to choose from.
