So now Google limits gmail quota to 30GB. Even if you buy storage, frustrating thing is they still limit gmail quota to 30GB. So what is easiest and fastest way to backup your gmail either to Google Drive or some other online storage or to your hard disk? Is this method easy https://sites.google.com/site/fileurltodrive/gmail-drive-backup ? Thanks in advance Regards
You could try: http://www.gmail-backup.com/download https://www.backupify.com/products/google-apps-backup Good luck
Well... that's quite a lot of storage for mail, do you truly need to keep that much anyway? If so - you could consider this: 1. Create a domain name email (presuming you have a domain name, and hosting) on your hosting account, in cPanel or other; most good hosting plans give you unlimited storage for your domain emails. 2. Add an email forwarder from this domain to your Gmail address (in cPanel or x). (and have mail sent to the domain email. Which is more professional anyway; and you'll still receive it in your Gmail, and can also respond from it, in Gmail (Google how, if you don't know), so it will be the same experience - logging in and using Gmail as normal. But behind a domain email). 3. When your Gmail quota starts reaching its limit - just delete it from your Gmail inbox. Due to the fact your emails were originally sent to your domain email inbox on your hosted server - they will remain there; the Gmail account will effectively be a shell for you. I do this, and I send multiple email accounts to one Gmail address; this way - you can use one Gmail address as a base - you can log-in and have all the usage and visual benefits of a Gmail account but get mail from many directions sent to it, addressed to those emails separately, but manage it all from one account (the Gmail). And then you have no backing up issues to worry about, as after you're done with the mails in Gmail, you can just delete and they will be 'backed up' (still there) in your true inboxes.
hey thanks for sahring. Best way to keep important emails is to save them and the only thing we need is space.
Three easy ways to backup gmail. You can forward to another email address. You can use and app called gmail backup. Or, you can download gmvault at gmvault.org
Enable POP for every mail in Gmail settings to backup the emails. See the link: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/34030?hl=en
The thing is I trust Google, so I won't like to put my data to other sites which are not too trusted...
Well, the simplest way is possibly to use the MS outlook.com web-based mail as an online backup of the gmail account(s). In short you can set up the outlook account to be a POP3 client of your gmail account, reading the mails (and of course storing them, currently there is no limit... ) please see here: http://www.blessio.com/2013/04/how-to-make-free-backup-of-your-gmail.html
Just be careful using Thunderbird or Outlook as they Sync as oppose to Incremental backups. I lost a load of work after deleting in Gmail only to find Thunderbird syncs these deletions (I know it obvious but it got me). Consider an online Incremental scheme like Bacupify or something you install like Gmail Backup or StarBanana GeeBak (which does it automatically I think). All are fairly easy to try out. Im also concerned that the big Google dont guarantee your data in a Gmail account! If ISP's can make 99.9% uptime promises surely a giant like G can make us all feel a little better.
