Which Hosting do u want to go for ..Shared or Dedicated.

As far as shared is concerned you can try out with ixwebhosting . They have good support . Only problem is once u have good traffic to your website . you will need to move to some other hosting as they wont allow more hits comming up . i had to move from them to dedicated when my site started having 2000 uniques daily .. anyway that was a forum which i hosted with them .. so it would take in heavy resources..

Another one is lunarpages .. even they are good to deal with

Godaddy i would prefer the least ... They dont allow your database to be accessed from other server .. which sucks for me .. they wont even allow ur script hosted on their server to access database on other server .. I really hate it to the core.

    Hope this helps you out

    Hello leandar,

What is your monthly or yearly budget for hosting? You'll find that there isn't really a "best webhost" because they all have their positives and negatives.

We have a couple of plans that may suit your needs.

First is our Economy plan which comes with 1,000 MB space and 20,000 MB bandwidth for $2.99/month.

The second is our Standard plan which comes with 2,500 MB space and 40,000 MB bandwidth for $5.99/month.

You can find more information about our shared hosting plans here.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions :)

Hey buddy even i am from India ... My personnal opinion about Indian Hosting .. It really sucks in terms of bandwidth .

I did contact all major hosting, server and colocation providers in India ( Sify,BSNL,Reliance,VSNL).. Just for 10 Gb monthly bandwidth ( Only Bandwidth without servers ) they charge 5000 Rs ( 114$ ) . I am hosting 2 high end servers with joltdigital ( US Hosting Firm ) for 13,200 Rs (300$) monthly and 2000Gb Bandwidth ( Servers have 4 GB Ram each ).. Just compare the difference between both.

i would recommend you to better switch from manahosting.com ( May be it could cause u little pain to transfer files ..but later you can be happy )

Which hosting service is good enough to start off and provides for expansion later, if needed?

Please note that I am not looking for too big plans at the start bcoz I may not get so much traffic.

Can all of you guys arrive at a consensus and give me the best three options?

There are many hosting companies around that provide starter packages for beginners with the option to upgrade later at anytime when the need arises. I think you should refer to popular web hosting forums to search for your best three options.

i like hostgator and I agree with a previous poster, you should check out some hosting forums (most of the comparison sites are biased or push the hosts that pay them the most) so try and find ones that say they are not owned by a host or biased in any way.

hostgator has good service and good support. Been with them since May '06
