I think it depends on the forum topic, for Science maybe something about telescopes or an affiliate program for a periodic table of elements poster.

For a forum about forums you might do something like vBSEO --

    Believe me those exist.

Probably Adsense spaced between posts. Very few clicks generated from forum surfers.

and to give people incentive to signup for your forum, make it so the ads after the first post only show to visitors (members are much less likely to click anyways)

for forums.. you need to target web master traffic for forum such as DP.?

rest depends on the topics the forums focus on.. mostly job affiliate programs like naukri / monster works well on forums!

    Thanks guys for your replies

I'm currently using SMF not vB. How does it work anyways (vBSEO)?

I tried this one, but the CTR is only 0.70% in average. While I only got about 400-500 pageviews now :(

I'm looking for a higher CPM if there's any.

Agreed. But how could I generate some income if I don't show the ads

Well it's about science n tech.. I know the topic it's not the famous topic, I just like the topic and wanted to build the community :D

Yet, I do need some income, at least to cover the hosting and buy the moderators beers once in a while ;)

So, anyone can suggest which aff programs or maybe CPM ads?

    Thanks again guys

find something that is relative to the topic on your forum....or try and work out an agreement with a single sponsor
