Best affiliate program for blog?

Alright. I'm starting a blog soon (just making sure everything is perfect before upload). I have this dilemma. What affiliate program to use? What's the best option for blog?

I'm planning to put one adsense box into header but I have still two free spaces for ads there so I wanna give a shot to somethin else than adsense. I'm currently considering WidgetBucks, Chitika.

    Any suggestions? :)

well you should take a look what the top bloggers have for their affiliate programs. they should know better. and I don't think they would have time hang out in forum often.

It depends on what your blog is about. I use adsense and do well but some sites/blogs will do better with affiliate programs.

It depends on what the topic of the blog is...there are so many affiliate programs out there, you can join thousands through CJ, Linkshare and Shareasale along. These are the quality affiliate networks with brand-name merchants which usually convert better. That would be my suggestion. Additionally, adding as much unique content to your blog is the most important aspect. Also submitting your feed to RSS directories and pinging everytime you post.

Totally agree with this, what ever your niche or blog content is about will determine what affiliates you use, like for instance you have a blog about the latest cell phones, then a ringtones affiliate would be ideal or a blog about sports an affiliate that sells sports tickets would be your best bet.

I personally like Shareasale for a blog....it really depends on your niche.

Trial and improvement might be helpful...experiment with different combinations for a few months and see what works best>

I think that you are the only one who can tell because it all depends the topic of your blog. You must know what you like, right. In order to make a rich blog content, you must really like it and your not just after the money.

Without knowing what your blog is going to be about it will be hard to suggest an affiliate program that will be best for you.

If the blog is going to be about making money online I would suggest the second link in my signature.

It will be mainly about xhtml/css coding, webdesign, web development, SEO, php, mysql and similar webmaster related stuff.

Here is the preview: http://netcovered.com - I am just betatesting the theme now so there isn't much content (something is already there) yet but as I am happy with how it looks I will start adding more unique content and advertising it.

I have already placed adsense there but I have much space in sidebars so I'll probably put some Chitika ads there? Or do you suggest something else?

    Thanks for advise.

If you're new to monatizing a blog, you could check out PayPerPost. It can be a solid way to start out - they pay for each post when you take assignments to post about products, consumer reviews, experiences, etc.
