So I had an idea of starting a thread that eventually turns into the compilation of advice from affiliate marketers for beginners to learn from. So I'll start... The #1 piece of advice I can give you is find a unique, unexplored niche. The more unique the niche, the less competition here will be, and the easier it will be to dominate that niche.
2. Keep at it and never give up. Always do alot of trial and error on your ads. Don't go overboard with alot of different niche sites. Try to focus on a few sites and learn about your traffic and also keep updating your websites content and optimize your ads.
I'll add "don't succomb to over analysis paralysis." Eventually you need to get out there and DO something.
Don't try to promote too many different affiliate sites at first or you will find that, while people might be buying here and there, you could go for ages before you reach a payout level for any of them. Find one or two good sources for product in your niche and work them for awhile. As you start making a steady income you can slowly add more to your site and keep it growing.
But be sure to draw up daily Plan of Massive Action early AM or night before. My productivity and earnings skyrocketed when I cut tmy Work List drastically and Applied Massive effort to a few Choice directions
Herbal Products/Skin Care/Weight Loss --- Have very high payouts..and there are plenty of 'untouched' niche! Do your keyword analysis properly.....Write Fresh content...
don't get caught up in doing too many things. Focus more on just one or two things and eventually with time you'll learn more. Learn as you go
My best advice would be, use all free traffic methods before buying keyword generated traffic. Learn as much as possible about targetted traffic. More targetted traffic you get more sales you make.
Stick to one affiliate network at first rather than choosing different affiliate programs. Downloadable products convert well and have high commissions. So, better to start with them.
Well here iswhat our new Program will focus in (Launch October 1st) Beginners Guide: On-line: 1. Advertise Massively: 2. Develop short simple Splash pages 3. Point all traffic to Splash Page 4. Splash Page hooked to Autoresponder 5. Autoresponder to Blog 6. Blog to Your Sales page or Affiliate. I am new to the Internet (2 years) But marketing over 47 years. This system is allowing our On-line Income to begin to be a major contributor to all of our Income Streams. Trying to learn SEO and all that fancy stuff. All I know is doing the above adds 100's of quality prospects a week to our data base (in the SALES FUNNEL) who are then Followed up, Sorted, and Converted to Paying customers. Our lead to conversion (paying customers) is over 20% We also tie Extensive Off-line sytems to the Internet generated prospects. We find many like the personal follow up with Direct Mail and phone.
Set your self goals. Big ones Like I will own my house in 5 years outright. And set smaller goals. I want to make 5 sales today. I will place 10 ads a day etc. This will help you focus. Doing this help me grow my income
Do these approaches make sense if you run a blog and have mostly organic and search-related traffic? How would this advice change if I simply had a blog that I wanted to monetize -- as opposed to picking a product to promote, then designing pages around it.
