The reason you might not want to write on your own site, is this: Some people are better writers and creators than site developers and SEO people. Yes there is risk in putting all your work on a platform you can not control. But there is also reward in using a platform that is easy-to-use and has existing traffic and community features.

When it was Enabled the money wasn't that good at all. Not really worth it anyways for us member's. DP disabled the revenue sharing awhile ago but i was never a fan of revenue sharing sites. Not a whole lot of money comes out of it but hey... a few cents each day is nice. lol
eHow is the best. If you write good, concise, useful how to articles, eHow users love it. But not those how to make money blogging kind

Well, I do believe you will get more out of making your own creations. Revenue sharing sites are often very limited.
