Total newbie here, just looking for some advice on how to get started making some serious money. I have a site right now, it's a Washington Redskins forum-based site. I make enough money for the basic upkeep of the site, but I'm interested in making some serious money making other types of websites. Trouble is I don't even know where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can't make website solely for the purpose of making adsense income. My suggestion, write a list of 10 things you know very well. Seems like Football would be a good start. Then, after that, use some of the tools out their to see what people are estimating that those types of sites are currently paying. Then, take the top 5 and build them out.

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking of making a NFL blog, can money be made off blogs? I figure at least the content is fresh.

 

My high was $132 one day last October. That was a spike... I usually average around $40-$50.

 

Yes, that is my goal too. If I can reach that, I can at least not have to work too much on my other job if I don't want to.

With Adsense, you never know what's going to happen next day with algo changes on google and Yahoo unless you have a very popular site that doesn't need SE traffic.

 

Mine was about the same as yours.. i think it was about 12.30 or so

You either need a alot of traffic or very high paying ads. I have done very well with the high paying ads strategy since I run a couple dozen low traffic high EPC sites. But keep working on it.

 

UPDATE: 7th was my best day 1,628 and 59 of your US cents, 8th was down a bit.
