Best Ads To Use on Proxified Pages?

    Hey Everyone
I've recently started my own proxy, and I was wondering what the best ad network to use on a new proxy, on the proxified pages?
I got told widgetbux don't update or pay (apparently) and I know that Adbrite don't allow them (see this)
So what else is there? :\
I was thinking a CPM network, but I don't know. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

Good grief those adbrite people are getting picky now aren't they! I have a proxy and have considered just using the ad space myself to push affiliate ads! Adbrite dumped me because of me having a proxy too. At one time they used to pay good now they pay me zero. You should use popunders and popups too.

Yeah, they are. I don't like popups really, I like to be unobtrusive. I think i might be forced into *shock horror* PPP, but I really want to avoid it if i can :\

Adbrite hasn't had any problems with my proxy sites thus far. You simply need to make sure that you're only displaying the ads above the frame, in the url bar section which IS in your control.

If you have it set up to accept contextual ads, the code will convert all the applicable text on the proxified page into text ad links, which would then be breaking Adbrite's rules.

Ah, ok, so non-conteztual ads are fine? Excellent. I'll replace Widgetbucks for a while and see how it goes :)

    Cheers

You sure about that? Because the warning gpearce recieved doesn't sound very specific regarding this contextual loophole.

Errmmm but if it turns out to be right, would an iframe tag around the adbrite banner be advised?

Well I tried it, and it's working just fine, I'm showing ads and everything :)
I suppose if it goes wrong, I'll think of something else :p

It's not specific about the contextual loophole, but it IS specific in saying that you can't put ads on the portions of the page you don't own. When someone browses through my proxy, the URL bar and option buttons are in a separate frame above the viewed page. That area is created by my proxy script, and thus is completely within my control, and that's where I put my Adbrite banner.

I'm not sure if an iframe tag is necessary...I just copied my Adbrite code into a pre-made proxy template that I liked. I'm not 100% programming-literate, yet. :)
