anyone have some experiences to share? (without figures of course :p )

thinking of using the thin one on local classifieds

My full-sized leaderboard is the most successful ad on my blog.

Yes, in my testing I've definitely found the full width leaderboard to work the best as well.

Yes the leaderboard is a good one - I'm also having great experience with the 160x600 one.

For me 728 X 90 has been most successful

I meant the adlink units (the thin text link ones)... not standard ad units

I've tested both and found the long thin banner with the 5 text links to work the best. Hope this helps

I've had quite good results with the 180x90 square in the left navbar of my site. However, as with everything Adsense related, you need to test and experiment to see what works best with your site.

most important is to make the links look like your own links/menu, so choose whatever fits better in your site's layout.

That's exactly right. I think the easiest to blend is if you have a horizontal menu, because you can stick the ads in the middle or right below the actual menu. It's sneaky but effective :)

How can you tell if someone clicked your links. It always marks when someone clicks my skyscraper....

Use the long thin one with 5 links, just above 'select your region', in red (like the links in your footer) and it will look like fine, just like a menu.

Geez, Andiz...read the rest of the thread before you post.

Anyway, I've had better luck with the 4 or 5 links stacked, especially on content pages that actually get read right to the end. Then I stick an ad link unit right underneath. Sometimes has a CTR higher than 100%.

But in your case, on your home page anyway, I would try like Beeweb said, or a 728x15 under your orange banner. Maybe with an orange banner and white text if it lets you, or else an orange border and red text. Something like that anyway.
