You gain no direct benefit from a high page rank (unless you are a link selling site) but to have gained the high PR this implies you are doing other things right so although the PR rating itself gains you nothing, having actually managed to get the rating itself should mean you have a well optimized website with good content that people are actively referring to.
I agree with customhosting for he has hit the nail on the head! There is no direct benefit for gaining higher PR as it alone would not be giving you good traffic...but if you did achieve it through hard work and not by creating spammy network of blogs/sites, then you surely have a good informative site which is readily liked by good sites for them to connect to! Uhmm...I think one benefit of having a high PR is when you're into reciprocal link exchange. It is the main factor most webmasters consider in exchanging links.
no benefits at all. This has been discussed a million times. I have sites with high PR getting almost no traffic and low PR sites earning big time. It's all about the quality of your content.
PR is showing the google trust of that website and the most important point is traffic. Gaining traffic is more important. It is always better to have good PR than lower as it is business.
PR is a shorthand way of expressing what Google thinks of your site. The posters who say it is irrelevant are effectively saying that (for example) if someone called you 'beautiful', it would be meaningless. It wouldn't. Calling someone beautiful is just a shorthand way of explaining that they possess a whole bunch of features that are hard to describe individually, yet add up to being something important, and therefore is actually very valuable. To prove the point, hands up who'd rather be 'ugly' than 'beautiful'? And who'd rather have a PR1 site than a PR9??? No? Any takers? Gosh - I guess PR is slightly more important than they are telling you... note to prev poster - you may very well have low PR sites that earn you money. So? *Statistically* you'll have more chance of making more money off a higher PR site than a lower one, because *other things being equal*, google is going to favor it in the serps.
high pr means u have done good online marketing and google appreciate it based on links, so indirectly it affect your traffic and ranking
if you have a good PR then it is easy to get ranked for TRENDY [google trends]topics. You can easily outrank other people's new blogs. And as others have said you can also sell links and blogposts.
I think that the main benefit of a higher pagerank is that you'll get higher position in the serps on your niche.
