    Hi,

I've seen this thread several times here at the forum and I tried almost all of them spyfu, keywordspy, affiliate elite, ...
And none of them gives a proper result for websites with PPC Adwords campaigns here in the Benelux.

Someone has a tip for me?

    Best regards,
    K

Stop wasting your money on short cuts that don't work. Those programs are just scraping the results page, but they are totally inaccurate, try running one of your own domains through those useless tools, they're always way off.

    You're so right ...
I thought I was doing wrong but indeed at the end I'll probably notice just all there programs are crap.

So actually there is no possible way to analyze the keywords of your competitors.

    (meanwhile I have a look at your ppc-coach.com) ;)

I wouldn't say they are TOTALLY useless, but ppc-coach is right, these tools are definitely way off, often. But they are good to get yourself some ideas of possible keywords or possible keyword topics. So I wouldn't dismiss them totally.

But the best way to get yourself some good keywords is still your own imagination and the official Adwords keyword tool, since it's free and uses Googles data. ;)

these tools are not good for keyword insight or starting out a campaign. These tools are not integrated with Google therefor they can only see what they have collected from past results. Remember a lot of companies use test campaigns, so if the tool snapshots while someone is testing a group of keywords, it might say competitor X is bidding on widget, when competitor X only bid on widget for a couple of days and found out its junk.

These tools are however useful for:

CPC bid insight, since these are snapshots of history, you can get a ballpark CPC range so you know if your in line with others. You might learn that you are bidding 0.50 when you should be bidding $5

see what competitors bid on in the past, if the tool says they bid on widget and you search on Google for widget and they are still there then its a working keyword

daily search volume insight, suppose you want to bid on term widget but the tool says only 1 - 2 clicks per day, then you know this is not a volume keyword and you not going to bust your wallet. If it says 100 - 200 clicks per day, you might want to ensure budget caps and heavy monitoring.

So you see, these tools have their plus and minuses. Use them for ballpark and research figures, but if you want these tools to build out you campaigns for you, then you are lazy and deserve to fail.

Just remember, if you are a business professional and can't spend the time to learn and optimize your campaigns, don't feel bad. There are hundreds of other things you have to worry about, sub out the campaign management to a professional so you don't have to rack your brain all day with learning and watching the grass grow.
