Benefits of Directory submissions services

Hi everyone,

I see a lot of services for submitting your website to directories, often a large number of directories like 300, 400 or 500 directories, or even 1000 directories.

Has anyone really seen the traffic to there website grow after using such a service? Or has anyone actually seen there SERP increase?

I had a DP member do this for me last December (unfortunately, I cannot remember his name, but the price was good!). It definitely helped my ranking in SEs increase dramatically.

I am discussion the effect of directories on Google SERP! I don't see this thread as useless nor spammy. What am I spamming for?

 

Directory submission isnt mean for traffic. Its only to increase your site indexing and backlinks.

Its better to submit in selected directories with some define standards.

 

I think submission in few top rated directories is just enough, consider quality of the directory which have impressive listing.

I'm biased obviously as I'm in the industry but I did a lot of submission to quality directories and at first thought I wasted my $$$ with no returns then a few months later I started ranking for terms I never really pushed elsewhere. It works but it's PART of a promotion not a total promotion...

IMO it is useless..
It can off course increase the PR and back links but surely not SERP factor...

 

You may not get any traffic from these directories but you will get few backlinks for your site.

 

I have a site that ranks #1 on SERPS and has 99% of the links from random directories, it took about 3-6 months to kick in but it worked and its a competitive keyword. btw.. lots more keywords rank on that site as well from the knock on effect.
