Benefits of Digg and other Social Bookmarking Sites?

What is the benefit of digg with regards to be ranked on Google and also have social bookmarking attached to a blog website that you have made with Wordpress for example?

Some social bookmark sites used to help site in google. Not sure if most do anything after last update. they do deliver traffic but it is not high quality and hard to make sales to.

 

I think places like Digg can bring in traffic leading to better stats with Alexa ranking. It also helps to get the word out about your site your promoting. There are a lot of benefits but I am not sure if it will help your site to get better indexed in the Google SE though. Other than promotion and traffic.

BTW - I read Digg is selling for loads of $$$$

Benefits? traffic and tons of back links which will help you to gain $$$$.

benefits of social bookmarking sites? it might make your site popular, drive lots of traffic (use it as an advantage to earn revenue in like adsense of course....), make new friends, discover lots of sites, and (I can't come up with something else LOL...)

 

I don't get why sites like that sell for so much. Just so the purchasing company can get the advertising money? It's worth $300 million to someone?? And Digg has those stupid ads with jumpy faux-Windows alerts, "You just won a zillion dollars!!!!!" with the green and red seizure flashes. Who would click even one of those, forget about enough to get $300 million??

Man there's so much I don't get about the internet!

 

The real benefit are backlinks, the traffic quality is extremely low.

 

All I can say is that digg can add additional traffic for your site, but I don't know if it also affect Google's rank because digg filters the robots visiting their links. If you want, use propeller for more traffic
