I've read many times that adding content to your site will help your ranking in web searches. But which is better, to add new content on new pages, or adding content to existing pages?
New pages generally, the more pages you have the better the likelyhood you have of catching that odd key phrase and generally SEs like bigger sites
I would say Fresh pages is number 1 and refreshing old pages is number 2. It is important to refresh pages by adding a little new content once and a while...it attracts new spiders...and a fresh cache D
I think the bottom line is to add new content..period. Spiders will pick up something new and index it accordingly..if you don't add something new and stay stagnant, well, the same goes for your SE Rankings.
You definetly want to do both to keep the edge on.... Be sure to freshen up your existing pages from time to time and never stop adding pages... Even if it is just 1 a month, bigger is better but to stay fresh is the most important... Important sites will always aquire links, so it's important to always gain links also...
Adding new pages altogether is better in my opinion. The bigger your site is, the better. When you email other webmaster for link exchanges, and you have a huge site with tons of articles, they are likely to exchange links with you. As an example my site located at www.mangalocity.com gets most of its traffic through keywords from google. Most of the keywords are located in articles I've written. I think of one page the same as one link. It sets up the potential for you to have one visitors per page and one visitor per link. If your site has 100 articles you should be able to get a minimum of 100 visits a day for those articles.
fresh content can even help your adsense revenue CTR, we refresh every 60 days but would do more often if we could.
