Benefit or Disadvantage to /photos or /photos/index.html

Hello,

What are your thoughts on this? Is there a benefit or disadvantage to linking, or driving traffic to domain.com/photos or domain.com/photos/index.html

i personally like leaving the index out, but if I drive traffic to /photos will I show two diferent PR numbers from /photos and /photos/index.html?
