If this question has already been asked and answered please excuse me for asking it again; but if anyone knows what the benefits are of being listed in the Yahoo directory, I am considering paying for a site submission. Would it be a waste of money?
If you do not know the benefits why on earth are you even considering spending money on it? Main benefit is co-citation, a strong link and the fact that Google specifically endorses it.
i think..its ok tu submit your site on yahoo... yahoo is more clean i guess for search term...espessially on bussines website
If you get link from yahoo directory it is beneficial for your site bcoz google gives weightage a link from good site.
I also wrote an article regarding YDIR descriptions. Before submitting you might want to have a read: http://www.redflymarketing.com/blog/the-negative-effect-of-a-yahoo-directory-listing/ Hope that helps.
It's a good link. It is a must have if you are a leader in your niche. Not very cost effective for smaller publishers though.
I will be purchasing one soon and putting in the tag because my site is a business and the $300 is small compared to some other marketing that we do. I will let you know what is going on with it.
Because not only will it give you a backlink, but a strong one at that. Oh, and you'd be surprised at how many people go through yahoo directory and actually take notice, so backlink aside I'm sure you'll get traffic
The main reason would be for the traffic. Having a link weight would be good too, but I don't think anyone knows how much juice it will carry.
