Benefit of age domain

What benefit of 10 years old domain without PR ?

 

I think it will have better chance to be higher on the keyword of your choice as it is an authorised domain.

 

Will it have the same effect... even if there was no website on it for all these years... and the name was parked elsewhere?

It is good for improving reputation of the site.
For example you can claim " we have started this work since 1999"
