Below First Page Bid

    Hello,

I am an adwords newbie and I am having some problems with my campaign. I have around 150 keywords and all of them are marked with "below first page bid". Should I add more keywords or what can I do make these keywords appear? My first campaign had around 200 keywords working perfectly for around 16 hours and after that they all started to be marked as "below first page bid".

    Here is some info:

    -max cpc $0,10
-location: all over the world (almost)
    -exclude males
    -Google Search; Managed content placements
-Focus on clicks, manual maximum CPC bidding
    -Show ads in any position

Should I add more keywords with the keyword tool and maybe I will get lucky or should I just increase my cpc? If I use more complicated keywords they will appear properly, but they don't get many impressions and clicks. The domain is related to cosmetics.

    Thank you for your help.

If you want to get any impressions at all and some clicks to go with that, you will have to bid more to get on the first page. Ten cents usually won't cut it, especially if your campaign is to promote the products of the links in your signature.

I'm not sure about your campaign organization - sounds like you have all keywords in the same group. I suggest you pause and educate yourself or get a pro to set it up for you.

Some tips: you may want to split campaigns along geography such as US, UK, Australia. Don't mix search and content network campaigns together. The setting of "exclude males" will work only for content and only if the data is available, social sites mostly. But if you are targeting certain sites that only mostly women visit, that won't be much of a problem.

If you are selling cosmetic products and targeting only women, you may want to try Facebook and other social sites as well as Google. There's also Yahoo for search.

Lucid has some great advice there - especially about splitting search and content, demographics and geos. And also not only relying on big G. Some niches can convert really well on Yahoo, you have to watch the content network on YSM especially closely however.

If you are not getting any impressions whatsoever, your account may have gone under a manual review, you can wait it out or be proactive and email them asking if everything is ok with your account, they normally take a day or two to get back to you

Agreed with the above posters. Try targeting better, the more granular you get the lower the minimum bid should get.

And you'll need to bid more than 10 cents, those days are gone with all the competition out there. Good luck sir :)
