The Faldo Series Final is in full swing this week at Itanhanga golf clubs in the Olympic city of Rio de Janeiro. The leading score of the tournament is Jonathan Bell who is three under par.

The weather is not the best with heavy downpours however Bell overcame this to take the lead. Bell 18 from London had a fantastic back nine of 37. He is one shot ahead of second place Gregory Eason.

The players were welcomed to the tournament by the great Nick Faldo himself and had an intimate Q&A session in the evening with all the finalists. The final has kids aged between 12 to 21 boys and girls. There are many nations represented including; UK, Ireland, Russia, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. All parts of the players skills will be tested and Faldo himself will be giving demonstrations. This gives the chance to all players to learn some new tricks from the seven time winner.

Faldo commented: “It was great to have the opportunity to welcome such a strong field of talented young golfers to Brazil today and I look forward to watching the tournament unfold as the week progresses. Our intention is to offer these young golfers an experience that replicates some of the challenges that they will experience as professional golfers, whilst also offering them an insight into what it takes to compete at the highest level in the modern game. I hope that our efforts can help to prepare them for those realities and wish all of the players the very best of luck for the week.”
