For those interested please avoid the following discussion stream:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=761081

Despite having paid for this item up front (as you do) I have been waiting for four days to receive this item and despite many PM's to the posters own mail box and several emails to his paypal address (proof of correspondence available should Mods wish to actually do something positive for a change) there has been absolutely nothing forthcoming whatsoever and when I gave the poster a deadline for either a refund or delivery that expired Midnight 24/03/08 GMT there has still been nothing forthcoming.

The amount of the transaction is inconsequential but looking at the discussion stream this character has disappeared with possibly hundreds of dollars (I have spoken to others caught up in this scam also).

You can find his user name on the posting above and I suggest that all others involved in his activities bury him in bad feedback.

One caveat however. If there is anyone who has had a psotive experience out of this character and can find a good reason for his / hers non delivery then I am quite prepared (even at this late stage) to withdraw my accusations.

I ain't holding my breathe however

Dick007's reputation appears to be in the toilet.
that alone would say "stay away".
it should of told you the same thing.

moderators do not get involved in member transactions and disputes.
sorry but thats the way it is.

thanks for the heads up though and good luck to you.

It wasn't in the toilet when I got involved in the first place. If Mods don't get involved in patrolling the BB then what exactly do they do and who does mediate or get involved. Mods can't have it both ways. You can't have the flashy title and loads of whizz bangs next to your name and then just run for cover when it gets messy.

Its a bit like having police force and then saying "Oh sorry there's trouble, sorry got my kids birthday party to go to."

    Code (markup):
they sit around smoking cigs, drinking coffee and playing cards.

of course they can, there mods. :D

the members, leave negative iTrader and red rep. its all you or anyone else can do.

Just about says it all about DP really. Welcome to the good old days of the Wild West and "rip-offsville"

I do note however that contrary to your assertion about Dicks reputation being down the toilet that that is not the case. He has had only one negative complaint, is still available and able to trade and take money off unsuspecting buyers whilst, as you say, the mods sit around smoking, drinking coffee and playing cards (your words not mine).

No doubt the self preservation society will close this discussion theme before it gets too contentious because otherwise someone might have to do something and interrupt their game of cards and that would be a real shame wouldn't it.

you can search and read all the threads here about folks getting ripped off and it always boils down to this.

mods don't get involved in member disputes.
members who get ripped off have only one recourse, and thats leaving negative
feedback to the offending member and maybe a dispute at PayPal

so go and do that and the next person who decides to maybe do business with
that person will see this and think twice about it.

I've given the offending character one last chance to redeem himself / herself before I do exactly what you have described (got to be seen to go the extra mile) but I totally disagree with your viewpoint about Mods though.

To maintain any form of credibility there has to be some form of mediation procedure rather than this "washing of hands" that goes on at the moment. God it makes the actions of Pontias Pilate look like "Action Man"

I don't "freeking believe it"! I get an infraction for this thread about being scammed by some lowlife who has nicked my money and done a runner. His thread is still live, he has not been banned despite the stink that appears to growing and I get a freeekin infraction for wait for it......starting the thread in the wrong category.

Hello boys and girls...wake up and smell the coffee. There are people out there defrauding others of cash but you don't want to either know or do anything about it..but....wait someones opened up a thread in the wrong stream..lets nail his ass!

Words fail me for the Mod who carried out this infraction. Perhaps if the grievance procedure in this set up had been a little more clearly laid out then perhaps I wouldn't have opened this discussion in the thread I did. As far as I was concerned as there is no meaningful access to support here (believe me I tried) and so I opened the discussion in feedback etc.

I am the one who has been done out of some cash (along with quite a few others) but never mind that lets ignore that, forget about the low life who is doing all this and nail my ass for opening up a discussion stream in the wrong category.

This is a living embodiment of the Peter Principle! The moment this posting goes live I am going to save this as a complete page because most of the folks who I know in other boards are going to laugh their asses off when they see what has gone on here and I want to have this as complete proof that this existed before some tries a cover up and removes this for showing the Mod up who acted on this to be a plonker!

I'm sorry but to paraphrase John McEnroe..."You cannot be serious"

That is wrong, you should not have gotten an infraction, If we did not post these threads then others would be scammed as well, There is way to many people being scammed here on DP. I do have to give the mods credit. (not sure who) but over in the bst in web hosting we have lots of people getting scammed. We we spot it we report it, we confront the scammer in his own thread (by then the thread gets out of hand ) and the mods close the thread and ban the scammer.. so i do no they are trying,

But for what you said his thread should not still be going on, and it is.

Mods - if you have any shred of decency for gods sake close down this guys thread as there are still people signing up for his product (just above my complaint and just below a warning) and all that will happen if we are not careful is that he will take their money and not deliver.

C'mon Mods try and give the impression you care at least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Mother of F$%^%&^&* God. People are still signing up for this thread and scam. Stop being so High and Mighty Mods and close this bugger down before he takes more money off people!

I got an infraction on this thread because...and you won't believe this folks.."The correct way to inform people that there is a problem is via itrader and not via a discussion stream" Will you wake up and smell the bloody coffee and realise that there are folks out there who don't know what the hell your high and mighty itrader is and they are the ones getting scammed by this con artist.

Do something about it and close him down...or at least suspend the thread until he convinces you it is genuine.
