There threatening to take me to the Australian Federal Court, unless i take down my website http://www.rstrades.com because it contains the keywords "Runescape Cheats & Hacks"..
    Can they do this?
If i have no chance i will just cave in, but if there completely just talking crap i will fight it.
    Thanks,
    Nick

Lots of places make empty threats - unless you're certain they seriously intend on going through with it I wouldn't worry.

I once had this managing director of a company call me having a go and threatening legal action because i had a domain name that clashed with his company it was bluff he didnt embark on any legal action i think sometimes they will just test you out hoping you will back down.

Considering there are hundreds of thousands of Runescape sites out there, I doubt they can do anything about yours. I'd tell them to have their lawyer send me something in writing with a signature - otherwise I wouldn't even worry about it.

However as the trademark owner, they have the right to do whatever they want about the name Runescape.

You are in Australia too, I take it? In Australia they may have a case. Do some searches for Australia cyberstuffing.

The cases that I have found involved sites that used lots of keywords in metatags on competitor's sites. I don't really see you as a compititor, you are not trying to sell people some other product. Australia requires that a trademark be used by the offending party as a mark in trade. I don't see that from your site, but I am not an Australian lawyer (or any kind of lawyer).

Here are some guidelines with some useful links:
