Being second page on Google within 20 days?

    Hi guys,
    I am currently working on a project related to SEO firm and the website has not even completed yet and I can see the website on second page of google for some competitive keywords.
    I have not started link building yet and got only 3 BackLinks.
    Just wanted to know that whether its a positive start? Is it possible to be on second page of google within 20 days?

    may be for u r keywords don't have a much competition.

    its possible to get first place within 24 hours - I've done it with my own SEO site - but you won't get on the first page for anything competitve - that usually takes months -
    broke my own previous record - the time from registering domain name to building site and just putting up about 20 decent links and voila - first in google for wimbledon seo within 24 hours ! - the traffic is weighing heavy on my server though with up to 10 people flooding in from google for that keyword phrase !!!!!!!!!!!!! Will be months before I get anything for more competitive keywords like seo / website promotion /affordable seo / link building etc - lucrative keywords regarding SEO are uber competitive.
    coming up on the second page will not bring traffic - you need first page as 99.9% of people don't go beyond the first page - but its a good basis to build on.
    what are the keywords ?

    I've just checked two keywords: Business promotions, Affordable online marketing.
    I agree with you completely. First page means lots of efforts, unique content, healthy back links.

    Yes it is possible if you are using poor keyword. If you want higher ranking in SE then you have to work hard, good back links, Social bookmarking and regular update the web content with unique content.

    I think it is normal to search engine rankings and expect some twist in changes of ranking results or maybe the targeted keywords have been low in competition.

    It's normal for the ranking to jump around for while when you're changing things, but it's also entirely possible to rank highly much faster than in 20 days, like others have said. It depends what keywords you're going for and how everything is set up. I would choose to see it as something positive and just keep at it! Good luck! :)
