Being Paid with the Wrong Social Security?

Hi, I am being paid with my social security but the account is under a different name. In addition, I am under 18. My question is, what would the penalties of both of these problems be? If they find I am under 18 would they only ban my account? What about the payments under the wrong name?

    Thanks a lot.

If they find out and you are against their TOS then you might get suspended, or maybe banned. What I would have done is used your parents/guardians information for the payment and when the money comes in, get them to transfer it to your bank account.

Its under my mothers name, but on my SSN. For certain reasons I can't use my mom's SSN.

You're probably not going to get into much if any trouble since you're under 18.
The people paying you, and your mom, could find themselves in hot water because of this come tax time however.

When the people paying you turn your SSN in with your mothers name at the end of the quarter on their taxes, the IRS is going to show a red flag because of the mismatched name/SSN.
The people paying you may find themselves being fined for violating child labor laws and who knows what else.
Your mom could end up being audited by the IRS come tax time, which is a pain in the butt to begin with, if she claims you as a dependant on her taxes. As well as being fined.

I see. Thanks for the insight, I'll have to try and fix this ASAP.

Good idea.. Basically it comes down to being considered fraud.. And the IRS doesn't really play nice when it comes to collecting taxes..
