It takes no effort to make an enemy. It takes a lot of effort to make and maintain friendships.

As with just about anything in life, the things people value the most are those that they put the most effort into.

You can be an owner of a bar and be cranky. I had a boss who was great at it: didn't hesitate to tell a customer to fo.

Now, a bartender on the other hand, has to be good if they want to make money.

Stupid questions? I once had a customer ask me if he could have a can of bottled beer.

Being nice with Ryanair's customer service is pretty hard for me at present.

Actually I can't contact them very easily so I guess I almost can't be angry at them either!

Oh, well, I'll just sue them so my lawyer can do the unpleasant job and I can be nice with the next hostess I like ;)

Ryanair is for the poor people, not those who wants to relax and get everything right. I have used them one time when I travelled to London. The first flight was delayed 40 minutes and the second one back home was delayed 9 hours :(

I use them a lot as the airports they use are ideally located for me.

But in many years they really pissed me off mostly when I had to deal with their customer service which is just a Dublin based fax number, literally just that.

It's so easy to be nice with other airline staff as they at least treat you better and give you a chance to talk to someone, including some other equally low cost airlines.

My friends feel nice about me because I always say nice things about them when they are not present.

We can turn even a bad guy to nice person. Play this small trick, Let the bad guy overhear the nice things you say about him to others. Same trick works best on children. Some people very nice to you but same time they are not very nice to others. A person who is very nice to you, but shouts at the waiter in a restaurant, is not a nice person.

I consider myself a nice person but I try not to overwhelm myself or become a pushover.

Yes, its your conduct with strangers and relatively weaker socially that shows you in true colors. One is generally nice with known ones and influentials

Being nice is hellishly difficult for me at times.

I need to remember the words of Elie Wiesel, who wrote "Ultimately, the only power to which man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself."

It is more than a year later and I am still frustrated with this.

Sometimes I think I will become a hermit.

Will, I believe that you are probably the kindest person here at Digital Point. There is only one time that I can remember you getting a little frustrating... But even still, you paid me because of I had to argue with you!

Never put yourself down as an unkind person, Will. There has never been a time that you have not been "willing" (hehe) to help.

If you are that desperate... Dress up funnily and walk down the street yelling out, "My mother likes poodles!" It always puts a smile on my face! :) Hehe, jokes!
