Is it worth paying inclusions in directories like Yahoo one? What kind of PR can you expect? Does it have an influence on Yahoo bot? Thanks
I have been in the Yahoo directory for about 15 months. Right before my listing went in---my ranks w. yahoo skyrocketed. I dont think it really does that much...and your money could be spent more efficiently if you are just starting a site. Either way, its a right off. I will keep my site in the directory with the logic of it aint broke...so dont fix it. One issue with being in the directory is the name of your company will appear in the SERPS vs. the title of your home page for results. So think long and hard about that. I am not sure, but I dont think PR passes from it...but I may be wrong. If it does pass--then it would be related to the category you are-and the number of links on the page. The yahoo bot? I dont think so...it only comes around once every blue moon to my site. It did a week or 2 ago for me--and my ranks/traffic have increased a nice little percentage.
Is it true that yahoo still favours US visitors mostly, ie making it difficult for non US sites/webmasters to list or advertise?
