Being an 18 Year Old "Adult" in USA

t is interesting to me how an American 18 year old "adult" has limited rights. I believe that just as any other foreign country, an 18 year old adult in USA should have all rights or none. In the US once you're 18 you are considered an adult. You can go to war fight for your country, kill, and learn about weapons, you are tried as an adult in court if you commit a crime, you are self responsible, you can vote, sign contracts, serve on juries, but you can't even buy your self a beer, you can't access clubs to get out of your usual stuff and go have some fun - dance meet people etc., or you can't even enter a bar with your parents even though you don't intend to drink, in hotel/casinos you're not allowed play, stop, or look at other players but just go through the casino without stopping etc.

Then what is the point of being an "adult" in the US once you're 18 when you don't even have adult rights?

I understand that lowering the drinking age would make more DUI accidents, no one promised us that life would be easy. Once you're 18 you are an "Adult" considered responsible, you should be responsible for your actions. Lower the drinking age but make stricter traffic laws to prevent DUI accidents.

I understand that allowing 18 year old access cubs, bars etc., would give them a reason or access to alcohol. Not everyone who is clubbing or goes to a bar intends to drink, instead they want to have some fun or meet some new people. Plus, just because you're not allowed to enter clubs or bars doesn't mean that this will stop illegal drinking. Alcoholics will find their way to access alcohol anyways, and they would drink it there were they would not be cought, with no supervision-thats what causes the deaths.

I understand that allowing 18 year old adults to gamble would possibly make some bankrupt or go in debt. Well you are allowed to take loans/credit or sign in contract that could possibly make same results.

In Europe you have full right once your an 18 year old adults and they are no worse than us. They still make the best cars and have better education level with higher literacy rate. A person can be 15 and very mature, responsible, and you can have a 24 year old who still goofs around and acts like a kid. I don't se how you are "more mature" when you are 21 than 18 because age doesn't make a difference but instead experience does.

    So what do you think?:

    1. Should the drinking age be lowered to 18 as majority of foreign countries?
    2. Should 18 year old adults be allowed to enter clubs, bars, pubs, etc., as majority of foreign countries?
    3. Should 18 year old adults be allowed to gamble as majority of foreign countries.
    4. Should 18 year old adults have full rights in USA as majority of foreign countries? If yes, what steps should be done to accompish this?

    1. Lowering the drinking age would cause more drunk driving, which means more innocent dead people.
    2. Clubs? Sure, but no alcohol :)
    3. I think gambling should be ok for an 18 year old.
    4. I think the drinking is one of the main things. I'm 22 now, which is only 4 years older than 18. And I didn't know near as much then as I do now. You can mature alot between age 18 and 21. Most teens make very bad decisions and I think 21 is a good age to be allowed to drink.

you should come to a europian country if you want to drink and have fun. The US sucks with laws and yet they have a high crime rate and lots of crazy people.

I think the drinking age is fine, lowering the gambling age would be good because this would create a better gambling habits ei; lose 500$ (1/2) of your salary in Las Vegas, once youre better off you dont gamble 1/2 your salary off

Who said you can't gamble while you are 18? They let me in Hard Rock after looking at my ID.
